Ungasan Village, Badung regency, Bali to hold events titled "Ungasan Festival 2010" which among other unique culinary present, namely chilli adam.

"Promotion of arts and cultural activities which will last until June 27, 2010, our title to support the tourism sector in Ungasan, because this village including those closest to the Nusa Dua tourist area," said the chief Ungasan I Wayan Putra Sugita SE in Ungasan, Tuesday.

He said the festivals which were held for the first time, supported by 13 banjar or hamlet in Ungasan Village.

"In addition to community support, we also received an appreciation of the owners of hotels, villas and components of the local tourism industry," he said.

It is said, the rapid development of tourism in Bali has made every corner of the island is the potential to become a tourist attraction. Richness of different cultures and arts of its citizens to give added value to the beauty of the environment, both in the mainland, the beach and ocean.

"Activity is interesting in this festival is a culinary and sports competitions. We have very many types of cuisine. Each row in Ungasan have a distinctive cuisine," he said.

One of the unique culinary Ungasan, he said, is the sambal adam. This sauce is made from beans that are the result of short local farmers, usually called "beans cicih".

"Sambal was only served with rice only and should not be presented more than 20 minutes, because the taste will be unpleasant and their color will change," Sugita said Son.

Activity that lasted for six days, the whole divided into three categories. Namely cultural arts activities including dance competitions, bleganjur, Utsawa Gita Dharma (spiritual songs) and painting. "As for culinary competitions, including competitions ketupat kalas, salad and chilli sauce adam preserved," he said.

He hopes that through this activity Ungasan will be known not only because of natural conditions, but also with potential and culinary arts. "For local residents, this activity is expected to make them more diligent practice and self-development," he said
